All students in the school are asked to donate a pair of new pyjamas for the Lenten project. Please consider donating a pair for such a wonderful worthy cause.

Well the hard work is finally paying off for the students as we begin our book report presentations tomorrow. I know the students are very excited to be sharing their book reviews. As a reminder, there were items that needed to be placed inside the paper bag. Math homework this week is 2 pages of Math Fractions. Students have the answers on the back of the 2nd page in order to verify and check their own work. I am hoping this will also help a few parents review the questions as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed for some warmer weather! Happy Shrove Tuesday! Tomorrow we have our Ash Wednesday celebration. Students will be receiving ashes in the gym at 10:30. Please join us if you are free.
Thursday we will be having our culminating Math Test on Angles and shapes in Geometry. A study homework booklet was sent home yesterday for review. Tickets will be on sale next week. Good luck to all those who participate and a special Thank you to all those who offer donations!! A special thank you to the parents, aunts, uncles, siblings and grandparents that came to celebrate our show today.
Our students were awesome this morning! The grade 5's sang their best and had amazing dance moves. The grade 6's were showing their jingle bell rock rap and also stole the show! So proud of all the hard work the students put forth this year!! We will be spending some time reviewing our Math multiplication facts this week. Please review often with your child to solidify facts.
We welcome the Ottawa 67's tomorrow in the afternoon. Go 67's Homework was sent home today and is due on Friday. Math tests will be sent home for parent signature this week. Please ask your child if they enjoyed their apple provided by Parent council. A reminder that our Annual Halloween dance flyer went home today. We hope to see many families! We have finished our Monster pictures and descriptions. Now the fun starts as we try to recreate the monsters from Mrs. Kalil's grade 5 class. Luv to Groove will be joining us next week. Please remind your child to wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. We will be having a Math test on Monday morning as a wrap up for our Numeration unit this term. Students should know how to use < and > signs between numbers as well as place numbers from greatest to least and vice versa. Reading unifix cubes and making a representation drawing of unifix cubes will also be on the test. Math duotangs will come home this weekend to review concepts and allow students to finish worksheets. Junior students are hosting a bake sale on Wednesday, October 3rd to collect money to help our former head caretaker, Mr. Eric Guenther. Eric lost his home and personal belongings in the tornado that hit Dunrobin and was not able to salvage many things because of the rain that followed. Grade 4, 5 and 6 students and their families will be providing baked goods and sell them for $0.50 and $1 next Wednesday to the school community. Every class will have a chance to visit the bake sale. We are also encouraging you to send non-perishable food items and hygiene products in order to help replenish the foodbanks in the area. We will collect items until Wednesday, October 3rd and deliver the goods on Thursday, October 4th. Please do not send in baked goods that require refrigeration as the space in our school fridges is quite limited. Thank you in advance and happy baking! Our class and individual photo day is scheduled for OCTOBER 4th. Good luck to all of the students that are participating in the Holy Redeemer Rockets Logo contest. All submissions must be handed in on 8x11" paper by September 27th. Our school theme is Holy Redeemer rockets. Please be mindful of copyright laws on the internet.
